MD College and Career Ready Standards

The Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (or Common Core State Standards) are a set of shared (by 45 states), high-quality, internationally-benchmarked, researched-based, and clearly defined academic expectations and goals that specify the knowledge and skills that all students will need in preparation for college and career. Below are resources for parents, students, and educators.

The 2017-2018 school year is the fourth year students in grades 3-8 and high school will take the PARCC assessments in English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics.

PARCC helps teachers and parents determine if younger students are acquiring skills and knowledge needed to advance to the next grade level, while older students can see if they are on track to graduate, ready for college and careers.
