Good evening, families, staff, and most importantly, good evening, students. As your superintendent, I am honored again today to come to speak to you for just a few minutes as we approach the end of our school year. First, let me begin by wishing all of you a very happy, safe, and joyous Memorial Day weekend. Let us remember what we celebrate about Memorial Day, the love for our country and all those who are serving for us.

Let each of us pause this weekend to remember those folks who are on those battlefields each and every day for our freedom.

I also today want to wish all my students, as we approach the last three weeks of school, a good ending to the school year. You all have worked extremely hard and it's been challenging in many ways that, as always, our students here in Worcester County Public Schools persevere, and I thank you for that. It gives me great honor to serve as your Superintendent of Schools. And I want to wish our graduating seniors best wishes as we begin our commencement exercises next week.

On Tuesday evening, we will honor those students who are graduating from Pocomoke High School. On Wednesday evening, we will honor students at Stephen Decatur High School. And on Thursday, we will honor our students from Snow Hill High School. And lastly, and most importantly to me, are our students at Cedar Chapel Special School. They are the light of our life as we go each and every day to see them learn and to enjoy being in our schools. But to all of our graduates and all four institutions, best wishes for a great future.

Always remember, you are a Worcester County student today, and you will be forever. Carry that flag and torch high and be proud of the school system that you graduated from, because we all are certainly proud of you as we celebrate Memorial Day end of year celebrations at all levels of our schools and obviously graduation. We have made it, but we've done it together. Not one single person has led this charge. We have all joined hands from our elected officials, our board of education, our county commissioners, to our community business folks, our parents and most importantly, our staff and students.

We have done it together, and that makes me very proud to serve as a superintendent here in Worcester County. You all are special people, and we live in a very special place. So tonight, thank you. Thank you for what you've done. And thank you for partnering with us as we've gone down this long and sometimes difficult journey. But we have made it together. May God bless you. May God bless your family. May God bless Worcester County Public Schools.

And I wish you all the best as we journey to the end of the school year. Good night.
