As we look ahead to the upcoming winter, there have been many questions around how the availability of distance learning may impact snow days, or what we call inclement weather days.
We want to share this information with you early and often, but please understand that this information applies only to when we have in-person learning occurring at our schools. Should we have inclement weather between now and students returning in January, distance learning will continue uninterrupted.
At this time, the Worcester County Board of Education does not intend to modify the approved 2020-2021 school system calendar. This means that should inclement weather occur that would prevent students from coming to school, the school system will utilize the three (3) inclement weather days built into the calendar to close the school system.
However, to avoid further extending the school year, should inclement weather occur that takes WCPS beyond the three built-in days, schools will instead transition to distance learning.
