Good evening, families, this is your Superintendent Lou Taylor. As you may have heard over the past months, Maryland school districts are developing a virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year.

With the lessons learned both from distance learning this year and Continuity of Learning last year, I want to announce today that Worcester County Public Schools is launching the Blended Learning Program beginning this fall. This full-year blended program is very different from the distance learning that students have experienced this school year – particularly in terms of the amount of screen time required, so I want to ensure that any families interested in pursuing this option have the opportunity to review exactly what this program entails.

Earlier today, we launched an informational page on our website,, that has several documents for families to review including a family guide with sample schedules and course offerings, the year-long agreement, and of course, the enrollment application. As you consider enrollment in the Blended Learning Program, I encourage you to reach out to your school counselor or principal when deciding if this option is the right one for your child. We are always happy to help answer any questions you may have, as we all want your child to be successful next school year.

Again, please visit our website,, to review all the information on the new Blended Learning Program, and keep an eye on our social media as we announce live virtual information sessions where we will have our staff available to go over the program details and answer your questions live.

Thanks for your time this evening, and as always, may God bless you and your family. Good night.
