Mrs. Merritt’s WIN students learned about how Minecraft is helping communities with their Block by Block organization. They then used Minecraft to design something they thought would help our school community. #3RsBIS
The What I Need, or WIN Block is one of our favorite times of the day. Our students engage in personalized learning in reading and mathematics. We see reading and math paired with technology, the arts, and active learning activities. Ask your Jr. Seahawk how they spend their WIN Block. #3RsBIS

Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo, known professionally as Oscar de la Renta, was a Dominican fashion designer. He was born in Santo Domingo in 1932. De la Renta became internationally known in the 1960s. He has won many awards including the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame.
Our 6th grade students are designing cylinder seals as they did in Ancient Sumer to show ownership. They also took advantage of the beautiful weather and made the courtyard their classroom. #3RsBIS

Sandra Cisneros is a poet, short story writer, novelist, essayist, performer, and artist. She is best known for her first novel, The House on Mango Street. She also wrote a children's book called Hairs/Pelitos. Sandra was born on December 20, 1954.

We are excited to have kicked off Fun Friday for the year! We played board games and basketball in the gym, and watched the movie.
