In February, we celebrate Black History Month. This month was created to bring attention to African Americans who made contributions to United States history. During this month we honor all Black people from all periods of U.S. history, from the enslaved people first brought from Africa in the early 17th century to African Americans living in the United States today. Many thanks to our BIS community for your flexibility and grace today as we shifted to Virtual Learning. In light of the announcement by WCPS regarding virtual learning days on our scheduled half days 1/23 and 1/24, BIS will use the following schedule.
Teachers look forward to seeing students online at 8 am. Please remember that we understand some have challenges with connectivity. Students who cannot connect will not be penalized and will have opportunities to participate when we return! Schoology and Dojo are both great resources for students and families to communicate with teachers.
