Dolley Payne Madison was born on May 20, 1768, the third of nine children. Dolley was born in Guilford County, North Carolina. Dolley married James Madison in 1794. He would become president in 1809. Dolley became well known for her hospitality, establishing herself at the center of the Washington social season. This allowed her to wield considerable political influence.

Grace Brewster Hopper was born in 1906 in New York. She was an American computer scientist, mathematician, and United States Navy rear admiral. She was a pioneer of computer programming. She is credited with writing the first computer manual. Hopper earned a Ph.D. in both mathematics and mathematical physics from Yale University. During her lifetime, Hopper was awarded 40 honorary degrees from universities across the world. They also named a Navy ship after her!

This week begins our 5th Grade Drama Productions! Drama I will be on stage this Thursday, March 13th. Drama II will be on stage next week, March 26th. Doors will open at 5 and the performances begin at 5:30 🎭
