Another month has ended., and that means it's time to share our monthly staff award winners.
Congratulations to these staff members. Thanks for all you do!

Science students had two opportunities this October to explore the unique ecosystems of the lower shore region! Biology and Marine Science students headed to Assateague National Seashore investigating the restoration of our living seashore, identifying species of plankton that serve as the base of food webs, and engaging in nature journalling within the maritime forest. Today, Marine Science and Chemistry students were the very first student group to explore the Grey’s Creek Nature Preserve. The day included a survey of the wetland, using various tools and techniques to determine the biodiversity and overall health of this essential ecosystem. In the maritime forest, students observed and discussed the variety of adaptations of the various lifeforms in the area. These experiences allow our students to explore new worlds while applying the skills and content knowledge they have developed in their science courses. We are so lucky to have the support of the staff at Maryland Coastal Bays who develop these programs for our students. 🌱🌿

⭐️Congratulations to Class of 2025 member Aubrey Jackson-Bowen! She received recognition from the Maryland Senate and General Assembly, as well as the Caucus of African American Leaders of the Eastern Shore, for her excellence in academics. ⭐️
Aubrey also excels in athletics, performing arts, and visual arts, and is consistently involved in community service and civic duties. Reverend James Jones presented her awards while her family and peers looked on. Aubrey is an incredible individual, and we are so proud of her accomplishments. #PocomokePride #TheFutureIsBright 💙💛

Good evening, WCPS families. This is Superintendent of Schools Lou Taylor, and I have written an open letter to our community this week correcting some misinformation about our school system. I hope you will take a moment to visit our website, www.worcesterk12.org, to read it. Thank you.

Did you know you can give input on the next WCPS calendar before it's even designed? A new survey for the WCPS community is open now, and the information received will be used to create the option(s) for next year's calendar. Complete the survey at https://tejoin.com/scroll/351798411 before November 1.

It was a great day on Asseteaque with SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) students! The educational sessions on healthy behaviors and team building were inspiring. #PocomokePride #HealthyStudents 💙💛
