Popped in to Mrs. Lail's Dragon E/I Block to find her students in a healthy game of competition! They are utilizing a Blooket that quizzes them on mathematical inequalities. As a reward, if the questions are answered correctly, they are given virtual candy and whomever gets the most candy pieces in the game wins!

IMPORTANT: Please see the below statement from Worcester County Board of Education President, Todd Ferrante:
The Worcester County Board of Education held a special closed session meeting this morning to further discuss the school safety matters brought forth in the joint letter from the Worcester County State’s Attorney and Sheriff’s offices.
As school safety is of the upmost importance to the Board, we are thoughtfully reviewing both the information previously presented by our law enforcement officials as well as the information presented today from school system leadership. We truly appreciate our school system community’s patience as we examine these matters with the focus and care that it deserves.
The Board has decided today to extend the closed session of the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in order to further discuss these matters. The Board will now open the regular meeting on this date at 9:00 a.m. to immediately vote to move into closed session. It is my hope that the Board of Education will be able to address our school system community during the regularly scheduled open session, which will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Again, we thank our community for their patience and understanding as we work toward resolving this matter.

As a reminder to Parents and Families: SDMS will be dismissing at 11:00AM on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023. After School Academy will not be meeting that day.
