Worcester County Public Schools students are invited to take part in an exciting summer literacy initiative designed to keep reading skills sharp while earning fun rewards.
The 2026 Books for Bill Summer Reading Program, presented by Navy Athletics and supported by Annapolis Ice Cream Company, challenges students to read 10 books over the course of the summer. The program was inspired by “Bill” from the U.S. Naval Academy, who is passionate about encouraging young readers to stay engaged during the summer months.
Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible for a variety of incentives, including:
Free admission to the Navy vs. Tulsa football game on October 10
Discounted parent tickets for $30 (regularly $60)
A certificate of completion signed by Navy Head Football Coach Brian Newberry
A post-game, on-the-field photo opportunity with Bill the Goat
Coupons from program sponsor Annapolis Ice Cream Company
Organizers hope to see strong participation from Worcester County students and look forward to welcoming families to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium this fall.
As an added bonus, teachers who support the initiative will receive access to a special link offering the same discounted ticket rate for the game.
Families and educators can find additional details, including the official order form, in the program materials below.
