Shenelle Robins, instructional secretary at Worcester County Public Schools Central Office and Vice President of the Worcester County Education Support Personnel Association, has been selected to participate in the National Education Association’s Education Support Professional Leadership Institute (ESPLI).

ESPLI is a nationally recognized 18-month leadership development program designed to help Education Support Professionals strengthen their leadership skills and become effective advocates in their schools, unions, and communities. Participants are selected through a competitive application and video submission process, and Robins was the only applicant from Maryland accepted into the Class of 2027 cohort, which includes 27 participants from across the country.

Throughout the program, participants engage in virtual and in-person training focused on communication, problem-solving, organizing, and leadership development. The program also encourages participants to take active roles in supporting student success and advocating for their schools and communities.

As part of the program, each participant completes a capstone project addressing a real need within their workplace, union, or community. The project highlights leadership growth while creating a meaningful local impact.

The ESPLI program is open to eligible NEA Education Support Professionals from pre-K through higher education and provides valuable opportunities for members to grow professionally and strengthen their communities.
