Progress Update: thank you to the Ocean Pines Garden Club for visiting WTHS to tour the community garden project. Our carpentry students did an excellent job building 14 raised beds. The beds are being planted with a variety of vegetables and herbs. Student Interns will be tending the garden this summer. The fresh produce will be used in culinary arts and will be available to students in STATT Camp and in The Nest. We are excited to share and grow our project and continue to scale up in the future.
WTHS students continue to inspire. Marcus Sykes (Welding) traveled to our nation's capital to receive the highly prestigious Aerotek Make Your Mark scholarship held in the Senate Agriculture Committee room on Capitol Hill. Marcus was one of only six students to be recognized. Marcus will be attending Advanced Technology Institute this August. Way to go Marcus!

Worcester Technical High School held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony this morning for the new Worcester Tech Marketplace, a one-stop shop featuring products created by Worcester Tech students. Open to the public from 8:30–9:30 a.m. and 12:00–1:00 p.m., the store supports the growth and innovation of the school’s programs. #WeAreWorcester

WTHS - We were visited last week by the 3rd Graders from Pocomoke Middle School, who toured several programs here at WTHS and got to participate in some fun activities.
Reps from Ford Motor Company visited automotive today to help connect program students with careers in their company. They brought with them a brand new Ford Raptor R to show and excite students.

Today was an exciting day for the trades! WTHS students had the rare opportunity to partner with Scott LeClaire and his team and visit the best of the best in business and construction. Students experienced what it takes to complete total home, kitchen, and bath remodels with a high level of artistic design and detail that cannot be rivaled. Thank you to Scott and the team at LeClaire!

WTHS carpentry students under Clint Timmons have been busy planning and constructing our first ever community garden. The project is still under construction but a lot of progress has been made. Today is the start of Assistant Principal Appreciation Week and we are celebrating LaVerne Cray! Ms. Cray comes to WTHS with expansive knowledge and experience in curriculum and instruction, counseling, and community outreach. She has served WCPS as both a teacher and as a school counselor, and she loves and appreciates all students, parents, and staff. She is an amazing asset to our community and school.
