Inclement Weather - Snow Day Reminders

Two-Dimensional Art students in Mrs. Perdue’s class at Berlin Intermediate deepened their understanding of creating and connecting by linking their artwork to the natural world. Inspired by Maryland artist Jen Aranyi, students created expressive landscape paintings that emphasized the element of space while strengthening their watercolor techniques and skills.

This project beautifully blended observation, creativity, and technical growth—showing how art can help students connect more deeply to their environment and to their own artistic voice. #WeAreWorcester #ArtsAreAliveInWorcester #BerlinIntermediate

Art meets literacy at Snow Hill Middle School! Our 5th graders made powerful connections between their Module 1 Wit & Wisdom literacy learning and their art class. Building on themes of family, identity, and relationships, students created meaningful family portraits using their understanding of proportion and composition. Inspired by Mary Cassatt and Amy Sherald, students explored how artists represent people with care, intention, and voice—then applied those ideas to their own artwork. This is arts integration at its best: deep thinking, personal storytelling, and academic skills coming together in one creative experience. #ArtsAreAliveInWorcester #SnowHillMiddle #ArtsIntegration #WitAndWisdom
