Meet Katie Greiser, Educational Assistant at Ocean City Elementary
4 years with Worcester County Public Schools
“Watching kids reach milestones is my absolute favorite thing, no matter how small!”
A Proud Moment
A moment I felt really proud was when one of my students who typically didn’t vocalize what she wanted looked at me and used a whole sentence to ask for something. I felt like a proud mom!
What People May Not Realize
You have to be quick thinking, some things that work one day for a student may not work the next day. You have to be able to quickly adjust and adapt in order to effectively meet your students’ needs.
What She Loves Most About Her School Community
It feels like a close-knit family with tons of support all around you.

It may be June, but learning is still happening all over WCPS! Mrs. Forrester's SHHS art students spent the day learning Korean Hanji painting from local artist Jiyeong Yun at the Worcester County Arts Council. Then they learned about glass blowing from Jeff Auxer in Berlin. Thank you to our creative and supportive arts community for an incredible learning experience! #WeAreWorcester #ArtsAliveInWorcester

This special milestone honors a year of hard work, growth, and workplace immersion for our graduates. Through Project SEARCH, young adults with disabilities gain valuable hands-on experience and develop the skills needed for competitive employment and greater independence.
Congratulations to our graduates on this incredible achievement, and thank you to The Commander Hotel and Blue Water Development for helping make this opportunity possible. We are excited to see what comes next for these outstanding young adults! #WeAreWorcester

Meet Michele Weller, Front Office/ Attendance Secretary at Stephen Decatur Middle
4 years with Worcester County Public Schools
“What I enjoy most is the opportunity to work with such a diverse group of people. Each interaction brings something different, and I value being able to support and connect with everyone in the school community.”
A Proud Moment
The daily opportunity to connect with the students and support everyone in the building. Whether I'm helping a student, assisting staff or working with parents in person or over the phone, I take pride in being someone people can rely on and making a positive impact in the school community.
What People May Not Realize
One thing people might not realize about my job is how much multitasking it involves. Working in the front office means constantly interacting with students, staff, and parents, often all at the same time. We're balancing calls, visitors, and day-to-day needs while making sure everyone feels supported and taken care of.
What She Loves Most About Her School Community
What I love most about our school community is the strong sense of teamwork. Everyone is willing to support one another, and that collaboration creates a positive, welcoming environment for both staff and students.
