Thanks to the Parents, Students and Staff who all participated in today's movie showing of "Screenagers: Under the Influence". The movie premiered at Pocomoke High, and was sponsored by the Berlin Drug-Free Coalition, Building Mosaic Solutions and PHS's SADD Club. Thanks to our community partners and Worc. Co. Health Dept. for coming out. Great information about how our teens' phones target them for alcohol and drug use, vaping and gambling addictions and more!

This morning kicks off the first-ever Neurodiversity Week here in Worcester County Public Schools!
Neurodiversity Week is a global movement that promotes understanding and acceptance of neurological differences, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences. With this initiative, we foster inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and empowered.
We invite our school system community to join us in this awareness campaign by participating alongside us for our spirit week activities. Tag us in your photos using #WeAreWorcester #WCPSNeurodiversityWeek
Spirit Week Activities:
MONDAY 3/17 - Passion & Interest Day: Wear a shirt or outfit that represents a personal special interest or hobby -from gaming to music to dinosaurs!
TUESDAY 3/18 - Sensory-Friendly Day: Wear soft, comfy clothes (like pajamas or sweats).
WEDNESDAY 3/19 - Neurodiversity Colors Day: Wear rainbow colors or neurodiversity symbols (like infinity signs) to celebrate the diversity of all minds!
THURSDAY 3/20 - Strengths Superhero Day: Dress as a superhero or wear a shirt that represents a personal strength le.g., math, art, kindness).

I was honored to present Challenge Coins to three outstanding staff members at Snow Hill Middle School today. Their dedication and quick action went above and beyond the call of duty, helping to locate a missing child with disabilities during a winter weather event a few weeks ago. Their commitment to our students is truly commendable. – LT

Visited Showell today to see some awesome things happening! I saw Music Notation Tic-Tac-Toe in Mrs. Wade's class, I read Dr. Suess to Mrs. Lovell's class, saw some beautiful pen-and-ink polar bear artwork on the walls, saw some landscapes inspired by Faith Ringgold's Tar Beach art, and visited Mrs. Winter's Art Expressions Group. They are studying and participating in Bilateral Drawing! What is that? It is a way of drawing with both hands to stimulate the brain in a bilateral fashion, activating both sides of the brain. This allows students to both think and feel simulaneously! Lots of learning happening through the arts! Happy Arts In Our Schools Month!#ArtsAreAliveIn Worcester

So proud of these WCPS artists from Snow Hill Middle, Snow Hill High and Stephen Decatur High! They placed in the Art League of Ocean City's Shirley Hall Memorial Art Show. Thanks Mrs. Forrester and Mrs. Shockley! Happy Arts in our Schools Month!

We love that some of our Music Teachers will be spending their weekend LEARNING at the Maryland Music Educators Association conference! Happy 'Arts In Our Schools Month'!

BIS students in Ms. Hudson's art classes are working on weaving! They are creating woven game boards with multiple colors and checkerboard patterns. Some used monochromatic or complementary color schemes, some focused on high contrast designs.

Loving Ms. Riser's Art I students' texture and color unit collaborative project at SDHS. Great explorations on size and the elements of art!

A huge thank you to The Nest Early Learning Center for having Mr. Taylor and Dr. Wallace to read to our littlest learners today for Read Across America! 🎉 It was a joy to share stories, smiles, and the excitement of reading with these bright young minds. #WeAreWorcester
