We are incredibly grateful to the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) for their generous donation of books to the Snow Hill Middle School media center! These books, given as part of Read Across America, will help inspire young minds and foster a lifelong love of reading. Thank you, MSEA, for investing in our students and the power of literacy! #WEAreWorcester

Today we recognize Eid al fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan for our students and families who observe it. To learn more information about this holiday and to connect to our students who celebrate, visit https://mpt.pbslearningmedia.org/collection/holidays/

We are so grateful for partners like the Art League of Ocean City who worked with our Stephen Decatur Middle School Exploratory World Language class to study French Impressionism. Teacher, Ms. Waterman and Artist, Ms. Guilfoil helped students learn the language, create artworks and study french food, music and culture. Here are some of the beautiful artworks they created! #ArtsAreAliveInWorcester

Thank you to Miss Katrin with Jesse's Paddle (Jesse Klump Memorial Foundation) for coming to SDMS health classes to talk about mental health and risky behaviors to our students. We want our Worcester Co. students to be happy and healthy everyday!

We are so proud of our Lil' MADE Men (Men Achieving their Dreams as Educators) afterschool academy from session II. These scholars worked hard with our UMES Education Students and Dr. Warren to work on academics, lifeskills, social skills, and positive motivation! They are being celebrated at an upcoming pinning ceremony at UMES. We are so proud of them all! One of the many impactful 21st CCLC afterschool academies at our elementary schools.

A friendly reminder that the WCPS Fine Arts Festival is coming up on April 15, at Snow Hill High School! We cannot wait see all of the amazing artwork and hear the beautiful music of our talented students!

Please be advised that Worcester County Public Schools are operating on a regular schedule today. There is no delay; the report from WBOC is incorrect, and we are working to have it removed. We apologize for any confusion, and thank you for your understanding.

Learning some amazing facts about Maryland today! At Pocomoke Middle, students in Ms. Beach's RISE enrichment class studied the history of Maryland, its culture, unique features and resources. With that information, students created pins, infographics, brochures, stop motion animations, and more to show what they know! Ms. Beach even treated them to an authentic Baltimore Sno-ball! IYKYK!

WCPS proudly hosted its annual Media Expo yesterday evening where students from all schools showcased their creativity, ingenuity, and skill through multimedia projects. Congratulations to all the medalists, and thank you to all student participants and their families for making it a memorable evening! #WeAreWorcester #WorcesterProud

Mr. Van is working with Prek students in the Music & Movement classes on dance and balance. Students use basic movement patterns and beanbags to practice different skills. Also got to see Ms. Dean's gym which is such a great learning environment with FITT principles, fitness components, PE word walls, and heart rate charts to keep kiddos healthy!

Amazing artwork is being created in Ms. Putsch's class at PES! Students have created clay texture pouches for spring, collages using geometric fonts in the style of UK artist Deborah Hillyar, and abstract art using organic shapes like Henri Matisse! #ArtsAreAliveInWorcester
