WCPS proudly hosted its annual Media Expo yesterday evening where students from all schools showcased their creativity, ingenuity, and skill through multimedia projects. Congratulations to all the medalists, and thank you to all student participants and their families for making it a memorable evening! #WeAreWorcester #WorcesterProud

Mr. Van is working with Prek students in the Music & Movement classes on dance and balance. Students use basic movement patterns and beanbags to practice different skills. Also got to see Ms. Dean's gym which is such a great learning environment with FITT principles, fitness components, PE word walls, and heart rate charts to keep kiddos healthy!

Amazing artwork is being created in Ms. Putsch's class at PES! Students have created clay texture pouches for spring, collages using geometric fonts in the style of UK artist Deborah Hillyar, and abstract art using organic shapes like Henri Matisse! #ArtsAreAliveInWorcester

It was a great opportunity for students to explore and prepare for their future!

Professional Learning in action! In February, art teachers had a professional learning experience where they learned some tips and tricks for teaching students about observational drawing, contrast, 3D techniques, etc. Here, SHES Art students are perfecting their observation skills using dark paper and light media to create their still life drawings, enhanced by their Art Teacher, Mrs.Sullivan's professional learning experiences! #ArtsAreAliveInWorcester

We can't wait to see the art that is created at Berlin Intermediate School this week! They are learning from Artist-in-Residence Suzanne Herbert-Forton, through an MSAC grant. The students are learning about the cultural meanings and uses of symbols, which natural fabrics and dyes. They will use de-oxygenated indigo dyes to create a personal piece of art which will become a large legacy quilt at BIS! Love this kind of hands-on, integrated learning, especially during Arts In Our Schools Month! #ArtsAreAliveInWorcester

Thanks to the Parents, Students and Staff who all participated in today's movie showing of "Screenagers: Under the Influence". The movie premiered at Pocomoke High, and was sponsored by the Berlin Drug-Free Coalition, Building Mosaic Solutions and PHS's SADD Club. Thanks to our community partners and Worc. Co. Health Dept. for coming out. Great information about how our teens' phones target them for alcohol and drug use, vaping and gambling addictions and more!

I was honored to present Challenge Coins to three outstanding staff members at Snow Hill Middle School today. Their dedication and quick action went above and beyond the call of duty, helping to locate a missing child with disabilities during a winter weather event a few weeks ago. Their commitment to our students is truly commendable. – LT
